The Jackson County community will gather on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM, for a solemn Memorial Day ceremony to honor the brave men and women from Jackson County who gave their lives in service to the United States.
Held on the south side of the courthouse in Gainesboro, the event will include the reading of names of all local service members who have died in the line of duty from World War I to the present day. As each name is read, a bell will toll in remembrance of their sacrifice.
All community members are invited to attend and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. This observance serves as a poignant reminder of the cost of freedom and the enduring gratitude of a community that remembers.
